Full talk time on top-up cards: TRAI

Now people of India can enjoy full talktime credit for every recharge you do. No worry of getting unsatisfactory talktime on the top up cards.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) asked the telecom operators to waive the processing charge on the top-up cards, resulting full talk time on such recharges. Users will now have to pay just an administrative fee not exceeding Rs 2 per recharge and other applicable taxes.

This servise will be started from 15th of september &every service provider will have to give full credit for the amount of the top up card value. TRAI said that existing customers on the lifetime plans can migrate to new lifetime plans with lower entry fee without having to make additional payment or recharges.

TRAI said that it has come to its notice that telecoms are deducting a fixed amount even for recharges exclusively meant for providing talk time to subscribers who already have validity.

The telecom regulator felt that levy of a second processing fee when the customer buys talk time through exclusive top-ups is unjustified as such subscribers had already obtained validity by paying a fixed fee.

The other policy directives given by TRAI includes asking operators to make the tariff related information available in regional languages also, other than English.

So ultimately, it is a very good news for all the mobile users who love to talk! 🙂
