Isn’t airtel cheating people?

I am using airtel friendz card for the last 1 year, and on 14th Oct. 08, my validity got over. For upgrading the validity, Airtel sends an sms message informing for the availability of the validity voucher for rs 110, with 1 year validity and 98 rs talktime. Else subscriber have to recharge with a very big amount to get 1 year validity with a stupid amount of talktime. For example, for the validity recharge of rs 98, you will get only 1 month validity with talktime of just rupees 9!!!

What if you dont get the sms from airtel? you have to recharge with such stupid amount or change your mobile number with suitable plan.

Same is the case with me!! My card is expiring on 29th Oct.. n i didn’t have their sms yet! Many people cannot spend such amount for validity, so I am. Thanks to BSNL which I have in safe side, but still, isn’t it the way of cheating?

They have stopped my whole service, incoming too. Now i have only three options in front of me.

  • Wait some more time till they send message
  • Recharge with about 1,200 rupees n get 1 year validity
  • Switch to other service provider or change my number!

But one thing I will do for sure, to kick airtel representative’s ass!

I know this problem . But I want to tell you other side of the coin.Last month same thing happened with me , but the thing was that I ignored their sms and when the validity expired then I realized its value. But I was knowing that they would send me validity sms . And that did happen when I was in the middle of my Nagpur to Bangalore tour after one day of expiration of validity .So Ashish :) have some patience :)

    I think it was 1 year Validity + 10 Rs Talktime = 110 Rs.
may be they are looking to convert existing friends customers into mycampus one.

Did you hear about the offer from HLL (Now, HUL) where they gave away a detergent soap along with the detergent powder? Did you hear about the offer from a consumer durable company where they were providing an air conditioner free along with a television? Trust me, there were such offers once upon a time. Everything is transitory in life. Nothing is permanent. You should be grateful that at least you had the message and then you delayed in bagging the offer. Dear, you are atleast privileged of having a superior network experience, try other ones and then all you’d be suffering is with repentance. I am loyal Airtel customer, and I know what mettle they are made of.

    @ Prashant
You are right, I also trust airtel, but this is not a fair way to deal with the customers. And i havent received their sms yet n my card will expire on 29th Oct. Till then, my communication is totally stopped!!!

Try a recharge of rs 27, In which, you will get 22 rs talktime.
After 48 hrs, you will get 6 months validity + 10 rs talktime.
And hurry up to get this recharge voucher, because it is not a regular voucher, its an offer voucher.
    Try it and reply :)
