prevent your bsnl broadband from disconnecting ~ BSNL trick

I found an amazing trick which helps you to prevent the internet from disconnecting while downloading.

Many people have this problem, including me that the internet disconnects while downloading. To activate this trick, you have to make some changes in the router.

—————————————————————————————

  • turn on the modem and open the browser (without connecting to the internet)
  • type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the browser and press enter.
  • A small dilogue box for username and for the password will open.

  • Enter the username as “admin” and password also “admin“.
  • The modem’s control panel will open.

  • Click on the setup or advance setup link and select WAN.
  • A list with many connections will appear.
  • Click on the checkbox of each connection and click on Remove button. this will delete all the existing connections.

  • Then click on the Add button to add a new connection manually.

  • Then click on ‘Next’ button to proceed with next step.

  • Select the type of network protocol as PPPoE and click on Next button.

  • In this window, type your internet username and password correctly, And click on Next button.

  • Then in the next window, check mark the checkbox of “Enable WAN services” and click next.

  • After this step, Your new connection changes will be displayed to confirm. Check them all as given below. Click on Save button to save the current changes.

  • Now you are done! Your new connection will be added as default one.

  • This is the last step for enabling this service. Now click on “Save and reboot” button. This will restart the modem and load with the new settings on every startups.

Now open any website without connecting to the internet, i.e. without ‘dial-up’ usually named as ‘broadband’ or ‘Bsnl’ or ‘Data one’.

You will notice all the LED lamps of the modem will glow, except the USB or Ethernet as you need not to connect the modem with the both. Now you are able to surf the internet without any disconnection. It will not disconnect while you are downloading stuff at maximum speed…

If you are having any problem in surfing the internet after the stepwise installation, try to use different web-browsers.

If you want to make the changes as they were before this, simply press the reset button on the back of the modem with the help of any pin or sharp object, your all settings will be restored!

Try this trick and don’t forget to leave a comment after your try. 🙂

  9. Hi Ashish,

Could you please let me know the below:
    1) Is this solution for a Broadband (Wired or Wireless modem) Internet connection?

    2) Are we disconnecting the phone line from modem? Then how are we getting signals?

    3) Or are we trying to make the dial-up connection a Broadband?

I have a ADSL Beetel 220BX modem (BSNL 256 Combo Broadband plan) which gets disconnected at night several times. Dunno whats the issue.

  10. @Abhishek
1)Yes, it is a sulution for wired broadband connection.

2)We are not disconnection main phone line, we are disconnecting phone line which goes fron splitter to the phone.

3)Yes, we are creating a dial-up connection settings in modem itself. If you made above settings in your modem, you need not to create any network connection in your PC.
Just bring any PC, connect the LAN cable in port, and you are connected to internet 😉
