Google introduced a new service called ‘Google Voice’ to make free calls to mobiles, landlines and to voice mail. It also provides feature to store your all voice mails, sms messages and transfers your all phone calls to your phone. google voice Skype gets a competitor – Google Voice

Google has acquired a site called ‘GrandCentral’ about 20 months ago. Google voice is based on this site. Now, only those people can use this Google’s new feature ‘Google voice’ who were the members of GrandCentral. But after some time, Google will open this service for all users.

Using Google Voice, user will be able to make free calls within Americas and will have to pay a little to make other international calls. Google Voice will provide a unique number to all its members and the calls made on that number will be diverted to your mobile, landline or would be saved in your voice mailbox.

This new service from the ruler of the net can give a very tough competition to the most successful VOiP client, Skype! Skype allows calling skype users (PC to PC calls) worldwide free of cost and charges a little money for calling to a mobile or landline. But Google will provide service free of cost so naturally, skype will lose many members among 600 million!

Skype is the best, considering the cost of unlimited plans they offer with the quality of the service…….

Somehow I don’t think whether or not it’s legal in India is going to have much of an impact, as Ashish said no one is going to care, and if it gets popular enough in the US I’m guessing it will be very quickly legalized in India and anywhere else stupid enough to make it illegal.
