How To Disable The Error Report Sent To Microsoft in Windows XP/7

Most of the times while using a Windows XP or Windows 7 pc, sudden crash of an application pops up a small error window. This error window is used to report Microsoft about the cause which crashed the application in your operating system due to any reason. This actually helps Microsoft to study the error which crashed the application and then to solve that particular error. This feature can be easily disabled by going through following simple steps


  • Go to “Start” and then open “Control Panel”
  • Now click on “Performance and Maintance”
  • Then click on “System”
  • After that click on “Advanced” tab
  • Here you will see “Error Reporting” button at the bottom of the window
  • Now select “Disable Error Reporting”
  • Press ok
  • Then press ok

Done! Now even if your application crashes, the Operating system will not prompt you to send error reports to Microsoft.
