With a freeware application for the iPod Touch, your swanky music player can be turned into a virtual mobile phone with the software, called “Truphone”. It uses wi-fi technology in an iPod Touch and makes it enable to make and receive calls to the other iPod Touch owners and Google Talk’s messaging service users. The software is a spin-off from technology, developed for iPod Touch and smart phones.

If that isn’t sufficient geek magnet, Bogar’s amalgamation of titanium and stainless steel is deliciously chic enough to cause jaws to drop when you whip it out. We certainly like the sliding mechanism which allows this little sexpot to convert into a clock or digital photo frame when not in action.

The first cell phone running Google Inc.’s mobile software looks something like Apple Inc.’s iPhone and has a large touch screen, but it also packs a trackball, a slide-out keyboard and easy access to Google’s e-mail and mapping programs. Google’s G1 may appeal more to technophiles than the average consumer because of its open-source platform, which allows anyone to develop programs for the device.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) asked the telecom operators to waive the processing charge on the top-up cards, resulting full talk time on such recharges. Users will now have to pay just an administrative fee not exceeding Rs 2 per recharge and other applicable taxes.
