Ushering in next-generation reform of the telecom sector, mobile subscribers will be able to change service providers while retaining phone numbers from November 25.
To begin with, the concept of Mobile Number Portability (MNP), which allows subscribers to change operators while retaining the same number, will be introduced in Haryana. It will be extended to other circles in the next few months.
MNP or Mobile Number Portability is delayed. The government had set December 31 as deadline for the implementation of the MNP regime for the metros and June 2010 for the non-metros.But it seems unlikely that the telecom operators are prepared for that because of lack in time to upgrade the technology, tariff plans and billing among others.
Now people of India can enjoy full talktime credit for every recharge you do. No worry of getting unsatisfactory talktime on the top up cards.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) asked the telecom operators to waive the processing charge on the top-up cards, resulting full talk time on such recharges. Users will now have to pay just an administrative fee not exceeding Rs 2 per recharge and other applicable taxes.
