iPhone-in dreams only! Better to buy nokia n96

Today, iPhone is launched in India with Airtel and Vodafone.

Bothe the companies had fixed the prices of iPhone as 31,000 and 36,100 rupees (about $740 and $860) for 8 and 16 gig. models respectively!

In this amount, Nokia n96 is much preferable. It is also much better than iPhone 3G.

Click here for more details and the comparison between both the models.

Both the iPhone and Nokia N96 are sensational gadgets, but which is better?

Main differences between the Nokia N96 and the iPhone:

Data capacity : N96 has 16GB plus Micro SD expansion slot which means another 8GB; total 24GB. The iPhone only has 8GB and 16GB. It also does not have any memory expansion slot. (Winner: N96)

GPS : While you can download Google maps for any location in the world to the iPhone, the N96 has true GPS which gives turn-by-turn instructions (Winner: N96)

Music Player : There’s no doubt that the iPod music player interface is the best in the world at the moment. (Winner: iPhone)

TV Tuner : N96 has got this covered. Not the iPhone (Winner : N96)

Processor : iPhone’s processor wins with the N96, i.e. 620Mhz vs 300-400Mhz (Winner : iPhone)

Mobile Phone Functionality : Nokia specializes in mobile phone technology and extra points for 3G chipset in N96. (Winner : N96)

Battery Time : The iPhone has almost double the standby-time of the N96. (Winner : iPhone)

Bluetooth A2DP : Can’t believe the iPhone doesn’t come with Bluetooth A2DP which allows you to stream music wirelessly to bluetooth stereo headphones. This comes standard on the N96 (Winner : N96)

Price : n96 – 35,000 ($835) and iPhone 36,100 ($860) for 16 gig. (prices in India)*

Conclusion From the above it’s clear that the Nokia N96 offers a lot more than the iPhone but at the end of the day there will be many who will overlook this for the suave look and superior music playing capability of the iPhone. Personally I would go the Nokia N96 mainly due to all the goodies you get with it…what about you?
