1 : Red dead redemption platform : Xbox 360,PS3 Due : April Description : Rockstar’s wild west adventure looks like its shaping up to be an even deeper prospect than its urban gangster cousin. Set in 1908, Redemption follows reformed outlaw Jhon Marston as he drifts his way across the High Plains in a gunslinging, bank robbing, train hijacking etc. The game offers a massive Sergio Leone inspired upon world to explore and random occurances take precedence over scripted events. Honour and mortality also plays an important role.

 

 

2 : Halo platform : REACH,Xbox 360,PS3,PC Due : Late 2010 Description : Microsoft’s flagship shooter returns with players taking control of nobel team, a squad of soldiers sent to defend the planet Reach. Those hoping for a look at the game won’t have to wait long with a multiplayer beta version set to be rolled out earlt next year, but you will have to be ownwer of last years halo 3:ODST to join in on the preview.

 

3: Bioshock 2 Platform : Xbox 360,PS3,PC Due : February 2010 Description :While most first person shooters are largely fire and forget affairs, the originsl BioShock was a far more cerebral and ambitious experience. This return to the un derwater city of Rapture sees you take on the role of one of the superhuman Big Daddys from the original, with the primis of multiplayergameplay this time around.

 

 

4 : Mass effect 2 Platform : REACH,Xbox 360,PC Due : Late 2010 Description : The sequal of 2007’s smash-it role-player, Mass effect to continues the story of commander shepard in the 22nd century. There are new alian races, much improved graphics and beefing upto the originals oft criticezed combat system. Also expect drugs, alian pole dancers and the unzipping of a future blouse. Intriguing!

 

 

 

5 :God of war 3 Platform : PS3 Due : March Description : The first game in the frachaise to reach the PlayStation 3, Spartan warrior Kartos returns for for a final adventure in the spring. With new weapons, a novel combat system and the promis of upto 50 enimies on screen to take on at a time, expect this to be one of the 2010’s more bloody offering.

 

 

 

 

6 : Heavy rain Platform : PS3 Due : Early 2010 Description : The makers of the film noirs-inspired PS3 exclusive have made the bold calm that it will take story-telling in video games to a whole new level, with real life charector emotions. A hybrid of both film and video game with a unique control system, we cant wait to see if French developers Quantic Deram can pull off what appears to be the year’s most ambitious game.

 

 

 

7 : Super Mario Galaxy 2 Platform : Wii Due : Late 2010 Description : This looks set to be Nintendos big gun of Christmas 2010. Said to have less of focus on plot this game around in favour of all-out 3D platforming action, new features include a drill that allows the Italian Plumber to dig through into new areas.

 

 

8 : Gran turismo 5 Platform : PS3 Due : March 2010 Description : First announced in 2006, Sony’s flagship racing simulator has been delaied so ling that it’s hard to believe it finally has a firm release date. The big new feature is an online mode with 16-player capability. And you can no longer drive with abandon as mechanical and external damage are now key features.

 

 

 

 

9 : Final Fantacy XIII Platform : XBox 360,PS3 Due : March 2010 Description : The latest in a franchise that stretches decades across the gaming world, this makes the first time the series will appear on the XBox 360. The good news is that YoshinoriKitase, the man responcible for some of the best FF is back on board as producer. On the downside, Leona Lewis is set ti be providing the wailing for the Europian version’s soundtrack.
